Halloween in Shibuya this year was even more packed than last year. Police had to block off certain streets to control the flow of the crowd. But if you’re not in a rush, and you’re there just to enjoy being there, it’s a crazy-fun place.
Wild as always, there were lots of unique costumes. The Mexican Gang, the guy with the kanji for “sperm” written on his all-white costume, and the Starbucks logos, were some of the more unusual ones I found.

Shops along the streets sell alcohol, so there’s no shortage of public drinking but even so, I’ve never seen any problems. The atmosphere is positive and everyone is happy to pose for pictures. It’s like everyone has a special night to show off. There’s really nothing else like it. I can’t wait to go again next year.
